Title: Summit County, CO - Development Code, Subdivision Regulations
Type: Regulatory
Jurisdiction: County
State: Colorado
Program Description: The Summit County Development Code does not allow new development in areas subject to a variety of natural hazards including wildfire, unless the risk may be eliminated or mitigated. In some cases, specific mitigation measures may be required.

Wildfire Risk Mitigation

In cases where CSFS has determined that the Wildfire Hazard Risk Rating is "High", landowners and builders work with the Lake Dillon Fire-Rescue Wildfire Mitigation Officer to mitigate the wildfire risk. For more information on mitigation requirements, see the entry, Summit County, CO - Fire Hazard Mitigation Requirements for New Constuction, on this web site.
